How to install your VerticalBoard on drywall: the complete guide

Hello climber! Have you just received your VerticalBoard and can't wait to attach it? Do you only have drywall for walls in your home? No worries ! Today, we guide you step by step for a concrete installation. 🧗‍♀️

Necessary material :

• Your VerticalBoard (obviously!)
• Screws provided
• A door frame
• 2 sheets of plywood or OSB (min. 18mm thick, 80x30cm)
• 4 threaded bolts (15cm long, 12mm diameter)
• 4 washers
• A drill and a screwdriver
• A wrench or tool for tightening bolts
• A clamp

• A friend to help you (optional, but highly recommended)

Steps

Preparation

1. Hole Marking :
   • Take your plywood sheet and mark the points where you are going to drill. The recommended spacing is 70cm in length and 20cm in width.
2. Temporary Fixing of Plywood :
   • Place this first plate against the drywall and use a clamp to hold it in place. This ensures that the plate is properly aligned.

Drill and Screw

3. Drill the First Holes :

   • Using a drill equipped with a wooden bit, drill 4 holes in the already attached plywood. A single hole must go completely through the drywall.

4. Insert the First Bolt :

   • Put a threaded bolt in the through hole. This will serve as a reference point for aligning the second plate.

5. Align the Second Plate :

   • Hang the second plywood plate and align it with this first bolt. This ensures that the holes on both plates will line up perfectly.

6. Drill the Remaining Holes :

   • While holding the second plate in place, drill the other 3 holes.

Assembly

7. Remove and Replace the Bolts :

   • Remove the initial bolt, then insert all the bolts into the prepared holes. This is where the help of a friend can really come in handy!

8. Tightening the Bolts :

   • Add a washer to each bolt, then tighten securely using the wrench or tool you have.

9. Screw the VerticalBoard :

   • You now have two options:
     • Option 1 : Screw the VerticalBoard directly into the plates.
     • Option 2 : Pre-screw the VerticalBoard onto one of the plates, then cut off the excess screws.

The Final Test

10. Test the Solidity :
    • Before you climb like Spiderman, give the beam a little tug to make sure everything is properly attached and secure.
