Our history

A brand born in the Alps

YY Vertical is an adventure that began in Grenoble, in the heart of the French Alps.
Here, we spend our time exploring the rock, scouring the cliffs and discovering new boulders.
It's this terrain that shapes the way we look at things, the demands we make and the way we design our products.

Supporting climbers on a daily basis

From the outset, our aim has remained the same: to help every climber get the most out of climbing.

Whether for warming up, training or recovering, we design products made to last, facilitate progress and encourage the pleasure of climbing.

Passionate R&D in tune with the field

Our R&D office is the beating heart of the brand: it's where it all happens. We imagine, we test, we adjust, until it really works. Every detail counts.

That's also why we work hand in hand with physiotherapists, athletes, trainers and ushers: because every point of view counts if we are to offer the best product.

A community that climbs together

Whether you climb indoors, on a cliff, at the foot of a boulder, in comps or in events, we've probably already crossed paths. For us, that's where it all starts: climbing together, understanding how you feel, discussing what you want to improve.

We do it because we like to climb

And because we know just how much a good idea, a well-thought-out detail, or a simple tool can change a session, a block, a progression.

We work hard to design solutions that speak to climbers.

Proximity

We're in the gyms, on the cliffs, at the contests. We talk to clubs, physiotherapists, ushers and climbers.

That's how we capture the real needs (big and small).

Kindness

For us, "better climbing" doesn't necessarily mean "being stronger than the others". We just want everyone to progress at their own pace, without pressure, and with pleasure.

So we don't just sell gear: we share advice, tools and content to support climbers over the long term.
