Who is CRUX?

CRUX Nutrition is a French sports nutrition brand founded by Margaux Leroy and Valentin Decarnin, two food engineers specializing in nutrition—and, above all, two climbers. Their idea: bars made exclusively from beneficial ingredients, with no additives or artificial flavors.

The result is a line designed to support your workout from start to finish:

• Before and during exercise: 5C, 7A, and 8B organic energy bars
• For a quick snack or a pick-me-up: Yosemite and Margalef protein bars —crunchy and available in hazelnut or peanut flavors

They're also members of 1% for the Planet! A climbing brand that cares about the cliffs of tomorrow—that really resonates with us.

Why a partnership between YY Vertical and CRUX?

Because improving as a climber isn’t just about training hangboard . At YY Vertical, we’ve been designing well-thought-out gear since 2014 to help you warm up, train, and recover. CRUX takes care of what you put in your bag and in your stomach. Two French brands, one shared obsession: helping you climb better and longer.

To summarize:

Train hard. Eat well. Climb well.

How can you get your free CRUX bar?

It's simple: place an order of more than €100 (including tax) on yyvertical.com. You don't need to enter any code—we'll take care of everything. Our logistics team will slip your CRUX protein bar into your package, along with a little note from them.

You'll receive either a Yosemite (hazelnut and chocolate) or a Margalef (peanut and chocolate), depending on current inventory.

Looking for a way to spend over €100? Pair your hangboard with its mount, or round out your gear with a chalk bag or a brush. And if you're looking for a gift for a climber, our gift guide is here to help.

YY Vertical And CRUX isn't the first of its kind

If you've been following CRUX from the start, you might remember this. In October 2025, during their crowdfunding campaign on Ulule, we teamed up to organize a referral contest: two YY × CRUX packs were up for grabs, each containing 10 CRUX bars and a Mini Crux piece of equipment personalized with the winner's name.

A year later, we're doing it again. This time, the entire YY Vertical community gets to enjoy it.
